Negotiating or Giving In…

I am lucky enough to live near one of my grandchildren so I invite him over frequently. I am always alert to the new material he provides me to share on my blog and in my classes. Since I teach parenting classes, last week was very interesting.

My grandson is 2 ½, and if I do say so myself, he is very charming. And therein lies the problem. This charming, little guy has begun testing his ability to negotiate and it can be quite difficult not to fall prey to his considerable charms.

This time he was staying over and was having a great time dancing and singing to the radio when it was time for bed. Prior to this week, he would always follow my lead when I said it was time for bed…
