Parenting After Divorce

If you have trouble because your ex seems to find ways to get to you, making it difficult to relate in a positive way, take a friend along when you have to negotiate to keep things in check.
If you ex breaks a promise or cancels a visit, try not to bad mouth him or her. Be honest but don’t add your own evaluation of his or her behavior.
Put extra effort into not escalating a meeting into an angry confrontation when your kids are present by remembering that you want to maintain a connection with your ex for the welfare of your kids.
