Teaching Thankfulness and Generosity

Now that the Christmas gifts have been opened, this could be a good time to have children clean out their old toys to make room for the new ones. Most children have so many toys that they don’t play with most of them. You can help your children clean out their closets for the new year and practice being thankful for what they received and learning to be generous by giving away toys they no longer play with.
For young children, you might put away some of the new toys and bring them out one at a time after a few weeks so they are not overwhelmed. That way they can enjoy a new toy over time.
